Privacy
How this site treats your work.
Word Census is a private desk tool. This page says what is read on your device, what is counted, and what third parties may see.
Your manuscript
When you open a Word document, text file, or pasted chapter, the file is read in this browser. The pages are not uploaded to a Word Census server. The census is computed on this device and forgotten when you leave the page.
Accounts
There is no sign-in and no profile. We do not ask for your name or a password.
Visit counter
A small visit tally on the home page stores a number only — not your manuscript, IP address, or identity. It exists so the publisher can see that the tool is used.
Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information for ads.
Amazon links
The shop links to Amazon.co.uk as an Amazon Associate. Qualifying purchases may earn a commission. Amazon’s site has its own privacy policy.
